Almost every woman loves doing makeup on her face, and nowadays, men are also into this. From foundation, concealer, face powder, and eye shadow to highlighter, bronzer, blush, mascara, and lipstick, we all love applying them to enhance our beauty. However, a problem arises when any of the makeup products accidentally falls on our beautiful dress and ruins it. But wait! We have a solution for you. Use any of the following methods to remove any makeup stains from your clothes:
Thinking makeup remover wipes work only on the face? But that is not the case- they work on stained clothes also. Quickly get a makeup wipe and dab on the stained area softly unless it gets removed. However, this method works only on fresh stains. Follow the other ways for dried ones.
Shaving cream is not just for hairs – it also helps in removing those stubborn makeup stains from the clothes. Apply the shaving cream directly on the makeup stain and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Now, wipe off the cream with a wet cloth and rinse the garment with plain water.
Drip some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or a clean cloth and dab it on the stained area. Wait for a few minutes and wash the garment as usual.
Mix a few drops of body wash or hand soap with cold water. Now, scrub the solution on the makeup stain using a soft toothbrush and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Then, blot the area with any wet cloth to clean the affected area. If the stain still appears, soak the garment in the solution overnight. You can also use shampoo in place of soap.
If the makeup stain has occurred because of any powdered product, such as loose powder, powdered blush, or eye shadow, then you can use a blow dryer. Wiping the stain away with your hand will cause more damage, as it will spread the makeup stain. So, it is better to use a blow dryer over the stained area and remove the powdered makeup stain.
Be it dish-washing or laundry detergent, take some of it and mix it with water. Apply it directly on the stained area and rub it with your fingers or a brush. Let it soak for a few minutes, and rinse the stained cloth. You can even apply store-bought stain remover for more effective results.
Take an ice cube and rub it on the makeup stain, then clean the area with a fresh towel, and that is it. If you are out of ice cubes, chilled water will also work to remove stains.
Make a solution of any oxygen-based bleach with cold water. Apply it on the makeup stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Now, scrub the area with an old toothbrush and wash the cloth as usual. Follow the bleach container instructions to know how much quantity will be appropriate.
Take any hairspray that contains alcohol in it. Spray it directly on the stained area and allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes. Take a dampened cloth and wipe over the affected area to clean it. Lastly, wash the garment as usual.
Not only dresses, people even drop their makeup products sometimes on their carpet or upholstery. But do not panic- we have a solution for that as well! Firstly, remove any excess makeup from the area with the help of a butter knife. Do not rub the makeup product, as it will push it deeper into the fabric. Make a solution of two cups of cold water and one tablespoon of liquid dishwasher detergent in a bowl. Put a clean cloth in the solution and blot it gently on the stained area. Next, dab the area with a wet cloth to clean the residual. Lastly, blot the carpet or upholstery with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry completely.
